One of our favorite plants of all time are violets, since they are a type of flower that can be taken care of in a simple way and that is also very pleasing to the eye.

This flower is of the color to which it gives its name, that is, to that color that is like a fusion between the lilac color and the dark blue color. This color is one of the most beautiful, one of the most aesthetic and one of the most appreciated by people of both sexes, both men and women.

For this reason, it is a good idea to plant violets this winter, since this way you will be able to enjoy exceptionally attractive flowers in spring, thus achieving a beautiful garden full of these flowers.

In addition to being able to be planted in a garden, these flowers are also suitable for interiors, since for their care we can choose a simple pot in a home, as long as you follow the appropriate advice to care for a violet and prevent it from dying.

In addition to that, violets can also be planted in other places, such as in the wild, where they survive very well if the conditions are right. The proof is that in many parks and natural areas of our country, we will be able to see a large number of these flowers planted in the surroundings, in order to decorate the gardens of the world in a totally natural way.

In addition to that, these plants not only have aesthetic purposes, but their good smell is also used for perfumes, since it is a fragrance that everyone likes, especially girls. Not content with all this, we also have to keep in mind that violets are easy-care flowers, that is, we will not have to have advanced gardening knowledge to be able to properly care for these beautiful flowers.

That if, although it is not necessary to know anything about gardening to be able to take proper care of them, we must bear in mind that you do have to know some things to be able to do responsible and intelligent care, which will undoubtedly bear fruit. In some very aesthetic flowers.

On the other hand, if you do a bad care, you have in the worst case the risk that the flowers wither, causing them to die. In other cases, we will have flowers with diseases such as certain color marks and other problems, such as faded and wilted flowers that are alive but as if they were not.

In addition to the aesthetic plane, it is also our moral responsibility to properly care for these flowers. The reason is that plants are also living beings that breathe and therefore should not be treated less. If we take good care of them, we will be indirectly contributing to the environment, so in addition to having a good aesthetic in our garden, we will be doing a good deed in some way.

For this reason, today I am going to explain to you all the steps you have to take to take care of violets, very attractive flowers that if you know how to take care of correctly, they will give you a spectacular garden aesthetic, full of light and color.

Instructions for caring for violets

  1. Buy the flower and plant: The first thing we must do when caring for violets is obviously to get the seed of the plant and plant it, something that is the first step for any living being to be born. What you have to do is move to a flower shop, that is, a florist. In this kind of establishments, we will be able to find all kinds of plants, which we can see in seeds and flowers. We are interested in the seeds, which will germinate and literally become a beautiful flower. Once we have the seed, we obviously also have to buy the rest of the things that are necessary for the seeds to grow and flourish. Among the most famous, we have the earth, the pot and elements such as the watering can to water the plants.
  2. Water abundantly: Speaking of watering, you have to keep in mind that the violet flower is native to places where it is very hot, such as Florida in the United States. In these places, the flower survives naturally since the climate, particularly close to tropical, makes it rain more often than here, giving the flower the heat it needs, but at the same time keeping it quite hydrated. What you have to do is water a lot, in such a way that the soil is always moist, so that the plant is completely cooled and in this way we can try to manage its heat as best as possible. Of course, many times people misunderstand this concept and choose to literally drown the plant. By this I mean that you have to water, but you don’t have to flood the plant, because if we do this, we are going to have long-term problems, because it will die. You have to water a lot, but without flooding the land area, making it humid, but there are never puddles of water.
  3. That the sun, but not too much: Another thing that must be taken into account is that the violets should be given the sun, but not too much. This is because violets are plants that need heat, but do not need direct exposure to the sun, as they are really considered outdoor or shaded outdoor plants. For this reason, you should plant it in areas where there is no direct sunlight, but which are not very cold areas, since, as we will see later, heat is better than cold. From time to time it is good that the sun shines a little, even if it is glancing, however, as happens with human beings, we should not abuse this either, for the reason that if we go too far, we will achieve that the plant looks weak, with faded flowers and many problems with this.
  4. Better heat than cold: As I said a few lines ago, in the case of violet plants, a little more heat than cold is always better. This means that we must always try to keep pleasant temperatures, almost short-sleeved, being the minimum temperature at which we must always have the flower at about 11 degrees Celsius, never being able to go below there. Although we cannot have it in environments of 50 degrees, heat is always better than cold, since these plants are evolutionarily more adapted to heat than to cold, since they have been gestating for years in hot territories and are not adapted to swim to cold environments.
  5. Dangerous animals for violets: After this, we have to take into account the animals that circulate in the area; they can be dangerous to violets. The most dangerous animals for the plant are the so-called parasites, which are living beings that are only capable of living from another. In the case of the violet, the most dangerous and in turn best known parasite is the famous cochineal, an insect that has the shape of a comma and is capable of eating all the leaves of this plant. The way to avoid it is by placing the flower in high areas if you have a pot and using a pesticide at times when it has rained, since the mealy bugs come out after it rains. You also have to be careful with some worms and with animals that eat the leaves, but none of them pose as much of a problem or as much of a threat as the cochineal, so it really is the animal that should concern us the most in the role of parasite of the plant. of the violet
  6. Cut the flowers: Once we have managed to get the plant to flower, it is time to cut the flowers so that we can use them for whatever we want. For this process, it is best to take pruning shears and literally prune the flower, leaving the rest clean. This method is good because it is the least harmful for the plant, since by being a completely clean cut, we are giving the plant room to grow more and leave that area healed in the nearest future. If instead we opted to uproot the plant, it would certainly not be a good idea, for the main reason that we would run a great risk of damaging the plant, even permanently. For this reason, whenever we want to enjoy the violet plant, we must bear in mind that it should not be uprooted, but what we must do is uproot the plant.
  7. Uses of the violet: Now we are going to talk about the uses of the violet, which is a flower that not only has small decorative uses in the garden, but we can also use it in other ways. Violet is a blue flower, a color that represents the purity of people and the goodness of their soul. For this reason, it is a good flower to give to other people at a party, whether they are a couple or friends. In addition, they are also used to decorate some part of the house, being able to put them in a vase with water and noticing how for a few days the house smells like violet, a very pleasant smell that all the members of the house will like a lot. We also have other less common uses, such as extracting its essence and thus creating a perfume, however, we leave this function only for the greatest experts in chemistry, since it is obviously not something for everyone.
  8. Similar flowers: Now we are going to talk about some flowers similar to the violet, which have similar physical and care characteristics, in case you want to vary the type of flower a little. The first that comes to mind is the lavender flower, a flower that stands out mainly for its good aroma and for its ease of care. We also have flowers such as the carnation, which is light in color, the rose, which symbolizes love and is one of the most popular gifts for Valentine’s Day, and finally we have other flowers such as jasmine, which have a slightly brighter scent. Fine, but they also have quite a spectacular appeal. The advice that I am going to give you is to try out flowers to see which one suit you best and your style. In this way, you will never be confused when it comes to being able to wear a correct style with the same flowers.
